:: Email: Cut The Clutter!

Outlook can be very helpful when it comes to Inbox management. Find out how with our top 5 pointers.

:: Get your email inbox organized and keep it that way all year long.

Delete, Delete, Delete
Delete any messages you don't need to keep as soon as they hit your Inbox.
:: Just click on the message and press the key "DEL" on your keyboard.

If It Takes A Minute To Reply, Just Do It Now!
Email has definitely changed the way people communicate. When using email, your clients expect to get answers in a timely manner. That may mean a week with regular mail, but it's usually less than 24 hours for email.
:: By replying right away - whenever possible -, you'll cut down the daily clutter in your Inbox.

Got Folders?
If you need to keep a lot of the emails you received, setting several folders will definitely help you cut the size of your Inbox to a minimum.
:: To create a new email folder, just press Ctrl+Shift+E and name your folder.

Filters Are Your Inbox's Best Friends.
Outlook can be programmed to filter and sort, in designated folders, any messages coming from a specific email address, addressed to or cc'd to you or including a given keyword in their subject line. Any filter you create can actually be applied to the messages already in your email inbox.
:: To find out more about the possibilities, click on the "Tools" tab, select "Organize" and let the options guide you.

Notes Make A Great Virtual Filing Cabinet.
Ever used the electronic counterpart of the sticky yellow notes available in Outlook? Once set to display notes by categories, this feature can be very, very helpful to archive and sort important messages.
:: Click on the Notes icon, then on the "View" tab, select "View by Category". When you want to keep an email, just drag and drop it to the Notes icon, which will automatically create a note file. You can then assign a category by opening the created note and clicking on the top left icon, selecting the appropriate category. To create new categories, just let the options guide you.
